Dr Winson is an Orthopaedic surgeon specialising in Adult Foot and Ankle surgery and Paediatric Orthopaedics.

He completed his general Orthopaedic training on the Welsh training program in the UK, earning his Fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2020. Following
this, he pursued specialised fellowships in Foot and Ankle Surgery and Paediatric Orthopaedics, with his paediatric training taking place at Queensland’s Hospital in Brisbane and Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital in Cardiff, while his Foot and Ankle fellowship was conducted in Brisbane with Dr. Ben Forster and Dr. Michael Lutz.

In 2022, Dr Winson became a Consultant in Cardiff before relocating to Brisbane, where he received his Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Currently, Dr Winson holds public appointments at Queensland Children’s Hospital, Logan Hospital, and Townsville University Hospital. He also has a strong interest in sports-related Foot and Ankle injuries and holds a Master’s Degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine.

Dr Winson serves as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and additionally, he is a reviewer for the Foot and Ankle Surgery Journal, the official publication of the European Foot and Ankle Society.

Dr Winson can assess children and adults and is qualified to provide complex independent medico-legal reports for motor vehicle injuries in Queensland, ACT, Tasmania, Western Australia and Northern Territory; for Public Liability matters in Queensland, ACT, Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia and Northern Territory; for workers compensation matters in Queensland and Northern Territory; and Comcare and superannuation claims.
