Dr Peter Rofe
Psychiatrist, Psycho-Geriatrician and Pain Medicine Fellow
Dr Peter Rofe MBBS, FRANZCP, FFPMANZCA has the rare accomplishment of Fellowship of both the College of Psychiatry and Faculty of Pain Management of the RANZCA, making him abundantly qualified to provide expert opinion evidence regarding complex and severe pain issues, as well as common mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and adjustment to injuries, and everything in between, for adult claimants of any age.
Further, Dr Rofe is also a Fellow of the Faculty of Psychiatry of Old Age, making him a Psycho-Geriatrician, as well as Psychiatrist and Pain Medicine Specialist. This means he has specialist skills in assessing the mental health issues of elderly people, including issues commonly specific to old age – such as Dementia or capacity – as well as other mental health issues such as depression or coping with the sequelae of an accident.
Dr Rofe’s special interests include General Adult Psychiatry, Mood Disorders, Chronic Pain, and Old Age Psychiatry and Psychotherapy.
Dr Rofe is currently consulting in private practice in Rockhampton, and in the past has held positions such as Acting Medical Director of St Vincent’s Hospital (NSW) Mental Health Division, and Consultant Psychiatrist to the Cancer and Palliative Care Units of the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
Outside of work, Dr Rofe enjoys horse-racing and AFL.
